Gualini Spa is completing the extension project for the Orio al Serio airport.
The airport of Orio al Serio is ranked third in Italy in terms of number of passengers behind Fiumicino and Malpensa. A new extension of 10,600 square meters plus another 2,300 to be redeveloped is under construction.
The area affected by the works is on the extreme left of the current airport, to the east. The new building will develop on three levels.
The project involves the construction of 5 new gates for Schengen destinations, 3 new boarding towers with lifts, 3 new baggage claim belts, spaces for commercial activities, offices and medical assistance.
Gualini is taking care of supplying and installing the external glazed facades with stick curtain walls, which will have aesthetic characteristics similar to the pre-existing ones and, at the same time, respect the restrictive performance requirements required by the building.
